We loved our family stay and especially enjoyed dining at the Hazelwood Restaurant, where the stunning views of the Bay made our meals truly special. The kids adored the big gardens to play in, and our pets were more than welcome.
In my wife’s opinion, a play area would be great for kids.

I enjoyed my stay, especially the location. It was peaceful, and I could easily explore the areas around. The staff were helpful. they accommodated me nicely when I needed breakfast even after hours. The view from my room was nice too.
The interior felt worn and could use some updates. While I appreciated the service, the evening meal did not meet my expectations. It would have helped to know about a wedding that limited outdoor space.

The grounds feature stunning views of the surrounding area, which create a lovely backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Spacious rooms included a variety of tea and coffee options alongside delightful shortbread, adding a touch of comfort to my stay.
Numerous parts of the hotel reveal a need for a revamp. peeling wallpaper and outdated furnishings make it clear that some tender loving care is overdue. Dining options were hit-or-miss, with self-serve options sometimes leading to dried-out food. The experience also suffered from cleanliness issues, particularly in some bathrooms that didn’t meet minimum hygiene standards—a letdown when you're looking to unwind. It’s not ideal if you appreciate modern amenities or consistency in room quality, as frustrations with missing amenities were apparent in several reviews. To top it off, the low-quality noises outside from resident wildlife can be irritating at odd hours, making it hard to get restful sleep.

the views from the dining room were amazin, especially at breakfast with the mist over Morecambe Bay. staff were generally friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the food served for both breakfast and dinner. the grounds are lovely, perfect for a walk if the weather is nice. my kids loved the wide corridors to run around in, and the room was clean enough mostly.
but, the bathroom in our room had missing grouting and it felt less than basic for the price. also, some areas of the hotel could really do with a fresh paint and update, it was sad to see it a bit run down.

The dining options could benefit from more variety.
